Eric loves everything about music—writing it, singing it, playing it, hearing it, even dreaming about it. There is always a song running through his mind. He’s in a Christian band and has aspirations to become a missionary one day. He’s a senior in high school with a lot of friends at school and church. His parents are still married, and he’s the oldest of three kids. Money is kind of tight for his family…he has to mow lawns and work for spending money.

Overall, Eric feels like his life is pretty good. He can borrow his mom’s minivan anytime he needs it, and his family doesn’t really get in fights. Compared to some kids he knows, he has it easy. And sure, he loves God. He goes to church doesn’t he? But when someone in the neighborhood starts praying, he’ll find out just how close he is to the Lord…
